JHM SUMMER CAMP
WHAT IS SUMMER CAMP?
Summer Camp can seem pretty surreal at first—hundreds of campers, epic team competitions, balcony-shaking music, and virtually endless activities, all at 5200 feet elevation in the national forest. But once you settle in you’ll realize that Summer Camp is actually very real—breakout groups with your peers and caring adult leaders, sunrise worship, and a thousand simple moments where you notice the Gospel at play in your heart and all around you.
Summer Camp truly is the best of both worlds where you can escape the regular routines of life while rediscovering all the things that a life in Christ provides.

CAMP THEME – DRIFT
The camp theme is a practical link between the entertaining aspects of camp and our presentation of The Gospel. We leverage it as a background to Biblical truth. This summer’s theme is Drift, based upon the verse Colossians 2:6-7 we are looking at what it means to be rooted and grounded and established in Christ. What does it look like when a junior higher “drifts” in their faith? We have this idea of who God is and we are really excited but we start to get distracted and begin to forget what it means to be grounded.
We believe that camp should be incredibly fun, and we want students to have experiences at camp they can’t get anywhere else, which is why we do Rec. The entire camp will be split up into teams and compete throughout the week in high energy interactive games that give campers an outlet for their energy and counselors a chance to encourage team building. All competing for the chance to win the oh so coveted champion camp t-shirt.
